Parents/Guardians should make every effort to drop off and pick up their child/children on time. All of the courses and programs for each session are located on campus in close proximity to each other. The drop off and pick area will be in front of the Performing Arts and Humanities Building (PAHB) located on Hilltop Road. Enter Hilltop Road at the intersection (traffic light) of Hilltop Circle and Hilltop Road. PAHB will be on your right, Lot 8 on the left. After drop off/pick up, continue around the circle to get back out. It will be at the same place every day for all courses. To find this on campus maps go to Transportation.
Each day of the scheduled course or program session the drop off time will be from 8:05-8:25 a.m. and pick up will occur from 4:05-4:25 p.m. Parents/Guardians will be asked prior to the start of the session to identify those persons who have approval to pick up. If an alternate person needs to be added, please contact the SEA office directly. Identification may be required. During these scheduled times, UMBC undergraduate assistants will be available to check in participants, and to supervise and escort them to and from their on-campus locations.
There will not be any before or after care support, therefore, if a student arrives later than 8:30 a.m. they will be responsible to come directly to the course classroom location. If a participant is not picked up by 4:25 p.m., a late fee of $10 will be charged for each 15 minutes of lateness. Payment in cash or personal check will be due that same day.
Paid parking will be available on Lot 9 (behind the Performing Arts and Humanities Building).
Absences or Lateness
If you know in advance that the student will be absent or will be late, on any of the scheduled days, please inform the instructor or student assistant. Please call the SEA Office at 410-455-8607 if you are running late for either drop off or pick up, or have an unplanned absence (e.g. sick).
